Setting Up Email and SMTP for Sending Results

Overview

The software can send emails (results, notifications, etc.) using your email account. You need to configure your email settings under Settings → Email.

Using Outlook

If you use Microsoft Outlook, the software uses your default Outlook account to send emails.

  1. Make sure Outlook is installed and configured on your computer
  2. Verify the correct account is set as your default — open Outlook, go to File → Account Settings, and check which account is marked as default
  3. In the software, go to Settings → Email and select the Outlook option

Using SMTP (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)

For non-Outlook email accounts, use the SMTP option:

  1. In the software, go to Settings → Email
  2. Select SMTP
  3. Enter your email settings:

Gmail App Passwords

Gmail requires an App Password instead of your regular password:

  1. Go to your Google Account settings at myaccount.google.com
  2. Navigate to Security → 2-Step Verification (must be enabled)
  3. At the bottom, find App Passwords
  4. Generate a new app password for “Mail” and use it in the software

Troubleshooting

  • Emails not sending? Double-check your SMTP server, port, and password
  • Emails going to spam? Ask recipients to check their spam/junk folder and add your email address to their contacts
  • New computer? Email settings do not transfer automatically — you will need to reconfigure them

If you are still having trouble, open a support ticket with a screenshot of your email settings and any error messages.
