Managing Registration Numbers (AKC, UKC, and Others)

ByRichard Beezley
Adding a Registration Number to a Dog
- Open the dog’s record (go to the Dogs list and click on the dog)
- Find the Registration field(s)
- Enter the registration number for the appropriate registry (AKC, UKC, ASCA, etc.)
- Save the record
Multiple Registries
A dog can have registration numbers from multiple registries. Each registry has its own field in the dog’s profile. Make sure you enter the number in the correct field for the registry you are working with.
Registration Numbers on Entries
When you create an entry for a dog, the software pulls the registration number from the dog’s saved profile. If the registration number is not showing on entries:
- Make sure the number is saved in the dog’s profile before creating the entry
- If you added the number after creating entries, you may need to update existing entries manually or re-create them
Correcting a Registration Number
To fix a wrong registration number:
- Open the dog’s record
- Edit the Registration field with the correct number
- Save the record
- Note: existing entries that already used the old number may need to be updated separately
Common Issues
- Number not appearing on reports? Make sure the registration number is saved in the dog’s profile and that you are using the correct report template for your registry
- Duplicate dogs with different numbers? If the same dog appears twice with different registration numbers, you may need to merge the records — contact support for help
