Handling Browser Download Warnings (SmartScreen, Chrome, Edge)

Why Am I Seeing a Warning?

Modern browsers and Windows security features may flag downloads from specialized software providers. This is normal and does not mean the file is harmful.

Google Chrome

If Chrome blocks the download:

  1. Look for a blocked download notification at the bottom of the browser
  2. Click the up arrow (^) next to the blocked file
  3. Select “Keep” or “Keep anyway”

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the three dots (…) next to the download notification
  2. Select “Keep”

Windows SmartScreen (“Windows protected your PC”)

  1. Click “More info”
  2. Click “Run anyway”

After Downloading

Right-click the installer file and select “Run as Administrator” to install properly.
